SPI - DOCTORAL SCHOOL DAY 2023
February 23th 2023
Agora du Haut Carré - Bordeaux
Attendees > Oral presentationsInvited speakersMr. Laurent TERRENOIRPhD student in mechanics and industrial engineering on metal additive manufacturing at the Ecole Supérieure des Technologies Industrielles Avancées. Laurent TERRENOIR obtained his engineering degree from the Institut Français de Mécanique Avancée (IFMA) in Clermont-Ferrand in November 2018. After two years as a data analyst in Paris, he decided to start a PhD thesis. This thesis, carried out within the ED SPI since November 2020, combines mechanics and industrial engineering. It deals with the industrialisation of metal additive manufacturing. He is carrying out his work in the ESTIA Research laboratory on the Basque coast and in partnership with the University of Wolverhampton (UK), where he was lucky enough to go on a mobility scheme from May to September 2022.
Assistant astronomer Emmanuel DI FOLCO Lecturer and assistant astronomer at the University of Bordeaux. Emmanuel DI FOLCO defended his PhD thesis in 2000 in astrophysics at the MATEIS laboratory. He is a member of the Conseil de Suivi Individuel annuel des doctorants. Dr Mathilde MAILLARD Post-doctoral researcher at Inserm. Mathilde MAILLARD defended her doctoral thesis in 2021 in the field of materials science in the MATEIS laboratory. She is also the creator of the blog Bien dans ma Thèse where she offers podcasts and interviews with doctors. Ms Florence TOUCHARD Nurse at the University of Bordeaux. My professional experience at the heart of the Bordeaux campus made me aware of the issue of student well-being and encouraged me to complete my training in the field of mental health and suicide risk prevention. For the past two years, I have been teaching mental health first aid to students and doctoral students at the University of Bordeaux. The aim is to improve knowledge of mental disorders, to promote early intervention and to reduce prejudice about mental health issues. Dr. William PLURIEL Post-doctoral researcher at the Geneva Observatory in Switzerland. William PLURIEL defended his doctoral thesis in 2021 in the field of materials science at the University of Bordeaux in the Bordeaux Astrophysics Laboratory. He then pursued an 11-month post-doctorate there before leaving for the Geneva Observatory to work on the modelling of the atmospheres of ultra-hot giant exoplanets in order to better understand the types of extreme climates that are possible there. Dr. Benjamin HARROUE Benjamin HARROUE defended his doctoral thesis in 2020 in the field of signal processing at the University of Bordeaux within the IMS on the subject of image restoration using a Bayesian approach for model selection. Since then, he has been working in a Bordeaux-based company: Touch Sensity. Mr. Nicolas DE LA FUENTE Nicolas de la Fuente is the manager and coach of the Start'Up Deep-Tech Incubator, CHRYSA-LINK, at Aquitaine Science Transfert (SATT Aquitaine).
